PRESS RELEASE - Cachaca

UNIT has just concluded a commercial agreement with Industria de Bebidas Pirassununga (IBP) with the purpose to market the brazilian sugar cane distillated called "cachaca" all over the world. Since 1999 UNIT has been exporting bulk cachaca for various countries where local liquor companies bottle their own products.
Now, in partnership with IBP, UNIT expects to double its cachaca sales in the next 2 years.
According to John Laurino, UNIT's CEO : "the brazilian cachaca is gaining market all over the world mainly in the US which is already the biggest cachaca importer and, despite the impact of the economic crisis in all segments, the prospects for our product are very good in the long term" .
In fact, a couple of big american liquor bottlers have been investigating the possibility to launch cachaca labels in North America for at least 3 years and if such plans take off there will be a big jump on volumes in a very fast way, adds John Laurino.
IBP is one of the major cachaca players in Brazil and it has been in the market for almost 100 years. With its main facility located in Pirassununga (state of Sao Paulo), IBP sells various cachaca brands such as "21", "Vila Velha" and "Cambraia" . IBP is also a leading vodka bottler with nationwide sales force.
